Where can I pick up my packet?

Thursday, July 25th 3-6 p.m. in Hilo - Location TBD

Friday, July 26th 3-6 p.m. at The Volcano School of Arts & Sciences

You can have a friend pick up for you.

Can I do late registration?

Online registration will close Tuesday, July 23rd.

Late registration will be available at packet pickup on Thursday and Friday.

Can I get a refund or transfer to another year?

No, entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I change to a different distance?

Yes, you can change to a different distance at packet pick-up. You will not receive a refund if you downgrade your distance (Half Marathon —> 5K). You will need to pay the difference if you upgrade your distance (5K—> Half Marathon).

When does the finish line close?

There is a 4 hour cut-off for the half marathoners. The finish line will officially close at 11 a.m.

Where can I find results?

Results will be posted in real-time on our timer’s webpage. We will also update the website as soon as possible with the results.

Do I get a medal for finishing the race?

Only half marathoners will receive a finisher’s medal.

Will I get a race shirt for finishing the race?

All runners will receive a finisher’s shirt.

What is the course like?

Volcano’s ‘Ohi’a Lehua Half Marathon will be run up Wright Road with an elevation change of about 500 feet. Runners will turn around at the top and then head back down.

The 5K will be rolling hills.

Where should I park?

Runners may park along the road by The Volcano School. Please do NOT park inside of The Volcano School or in front of the Volcano Art Center.

How many aid stations will there be?

We will have two aid stations on the course. 5kers will pass one aid station. Half marathoners will pass four aid stations. Water and Gatorade will be supplied.

 What will the weather be like on Race Day?

Weather can be as low as the mid 50s at the start of the race and can get up to the mid 70s. July is known to have moderate amounts of rain in Volcano so be prepared for the possibly of a sprinkle.
